🇯🇵 Meeting The Locals In NIIGATA | Bike Touring Across Japan #3

Welcome to the 3rd episode of the Bike Tour Across Japan series. In this video, my buddy Nick and I depart from the highest road in all of Japan and make our way to Joetsu, Niigata. In this video, I share with you a near-death experience that my Japanese friend had, I take a ride with a local farmer while planting rice, and I explain to you what a Shokonsha shrine is and how it played an important role during the Meiji period, we meet a super cool dude who loves Bali so much that he brought the vibes to Japan, and we finish the video off at an izakaya with some super friendly genki ladies.

And if you haven’t had a chance, please check out episodes 1 and 2 of the Japan Bike series.

  1. Those wisteria trees look awesome! We have a huge one in our garden too, in fact it's the reason we bought this house (we bought the tree and the house came with it, so to speak). That beach shack/shop with all the wood art looks fantastic, so much passion and fantasy. If your trip continues like this, I think it will make you very happy indeed.

  2. Beautiful landscapes and it is clear that you are enjoying the trip. If you make the rest of the episodes with the same passion and fun then I’m sure the entire Japan series will be awesome. Hope you get warmer weather further on the route. So far Japanese looks resourceful and creative. not at all like the perception of closed and mysterious. Hold on the right track and keep on going.

  3. I saw the pattern of your tattoo also appeared on the car, and I became more and more curious about its meaning!

So sad to hear about people losing their lives in a volcanic eruption, I hope this never happens again!

The sound of the curry bread is also amazing. Just hearing the sound makes me mouth water. It’s so great!

Was actor Matthew Perry born in 1853? Then he should set a record for the longest lifespan!

Your photo must have been accidentally mistaken. Maybe it’s Nick’s American humor, haha!

I used to respect the name "Tokugawa", but then I saw the TV series "Shogun" and found out that he is not a good person. I was a little disappointed!

The people in that Japanese restaurant are so lively and lovely!

I really like how you tell historical stories casually, please keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for sharing, super amazing job! 👍🤩👏
