Maybe I am just weird, but I don't get why she was still angry after he explained. He was tired of gold diggers, wanted to be loved for himself, and the only way to do that was to lie about being poor. It wasn't like he was trying to use her or somehow cheat her. The lie hurt her in no way, and it didn't mean he made a habit of lying, so I don't get why she got so angry. As far as I could see, it was the only lie he told.
