I would have made 1 difference to this scene: I would have ended it with the survivors finally opening the church door.. only to be greeted by Pyramid Head and hundreds of demons, who immediately swarm them, before Rose passes out.
Ud never get this brutal on a film these days. Too many feminists would complain!

What's her tax policy?
This is, by far, the most terrifying, gruesome, disturbing…and awesome death scene in any horror movie. Just think of the circumstances in this death scene. Put yourself in Cristobella's shoes for a minute…
1. Your killer is a demon living vicariously through a 99% charbroiled being, bedridden in a practical hell for the last 30 years. This isn't some thug in a gangster movie. You were offed by a demon.
2. You're killed in a parallel world. You're not even home. Nobody's going to gather your guts, bones, and in this case – razor wire for a proper funeral.
3. Not only is this death in a parallel world, its in a goddamn church! A place supposed to be holy, welcoming, safe, turns into a demon's playground for a massacre.
4. This wasn't quick and painless. Your head wasn't chopped off and didn't feel anything. First, your limps are wrapped in wire, raised 20 feet in the air, your legs are forced open, razor wire is takes off upward out of hell, with it's destination through your unsuspecting genitals, through your mouth, head, through your guts, out every orifice until you split in half.
5. A demon child playfully skips through your raining guts and blood as your carcass dangles in two halves – all the while, a church organ is heard playing in the background a succession of what sound like chaotic chords.
It's creepy, disgusting, gory, vomit-inducing, and oh so perfect.
Kinda disturbing but felt so satisfying at the same time. It's like, "Take that, evil cult!"

This film deserves a lot more credit. It has a cringey and bumpy start, but then it just takes off 20 minutes in. Easily one of the best video game films ever made.
