Dialing in my 300zx Z32 + Side quests

My 300zx Z32 project car recently had a caliper lock up, we begin with finishing off replacing the damaged parts. Shortly after we begin creating a mellow ramp to make my driveway low car friendly. I thought the Nissan Skyline R33 GTR wheels would fit much better on the 240sx s13, but unfortunately the tires were a little too thick..

  1. Hey Mike, was the red backing on the pads a sticker? I’ve done a few brembo brakes and it peels off to show the sticky backing that helps retract the pads. Maybe these dont have that just wondering, cheers bro

  2. what app do you use to log maintenance? Is it the notes app on your phone or is it something specific? I think you said it in a video before but I'm not sure

  3. Assuming you're going to pull the engine to do the Turbo KA, are you going to paint the engine bay while you're at it?

  4. Put some dielectric grease in that speed sensor connector, that water proofs it as the grease will repel the moisture and isn't conductive so no shorts either. Learned this from 4×4 guys crossing rivers, and have myself used this in a slightly leaky mini cooper convertible that would have a bunch of things go crazy after the body control module got moisture in it

Edit: you do mention it later lol

  5. Bro I like you but sometimes you do dumb shit, you just ruined those expensive tires with how much they rubbed

  6. Hey I fixed a similar issue on the z32 for a client it’s called a shifter support linkage if you need oem part number lmk

  7. I love this random dude, he may look like the weirdo of the neighborhood but i feel like he's cooler than most other dudes his age!

  8. My front ball joint let go on my Miata and made for a bad day. I’ve been putting off fixing it but you inspire me to get it done. If only it wasn’t raining. Driveway mechanic life.

  9. My dad put 850k miles on his 1985 Celica Supra then sold it to some guy who got it up at least a million last I had heard. No idea what ultimately happened to that car.

I despise those stupid wire clamps the Nissans of this era used. Besides the near universal leaking at the PS fluid reservoir, nearly all of mine are really rusty and getting them off intact is nearly impossible because they twist so easily… sometimes I can do it holding the "plate" with vice grips and soaking them down really good, but I usually end up using bolt cutters to get the damn things off instead.

Gonna suck if the city comes by and redoes the curbs this summer!
